* Reprint of the sole edition. This was the first American treatise on the law relating to agency, auctions and brokers. A review cited in Marvin's Legal Bibliography (1847) says this treatise "treats the subject in a learned and perspicuous manner, drawing illustrations from the Civil, as well as the Common Law." Livermore [1786-1833] was an attorney who practiced in New Orleans. Marvin says he was "one of the most learned and eminent jurists that this country has produced" (470).
